Shelter #1 Loop via JFA Trail(edit)

Overview

This is a easy loop trail in Pleasant Ridge County Park.

This trail goes by JFA Trail Monument, Directional signpost for Bike or Hike, and Shelter #1.

Getting Started

This is a beautiful county park and the JFA trail is well kept. I caution other hikers to be very careful hiking this trail. The trail is shared by hikers traveling in one direction and mountain bikers traveling in the opposite direction—both sharing the same narrow trail. We probably passed 80 bikes during our 5 mile hike and all the bikers were careful but it would be different and dangerous if a biker was not careful with the narrow trail and blind curves. I am so glad the bikers have this trail and it is shared with the hikers. I was really happy the bikes and hikers travel in opposite directions or it would not end well for both. :-)
