Overview

This is a easy out and back trail in Cibola National Forest with great views, a plethora of wildflowers and wildlife, and even a small cave.

See the Cibola National Forest website for more info.

This trail goes by Tecolote Peak.

Getting Started

Drive up the Sandia Crest Road. The trailhead will be on your right, just past the 6 Mile marker. No fee required.

Parking isn't very structured due to recent logging activity, but there is plenty of room.

The trail starts by old the restroom building; no restrooms available.

Taking Children

Easy trail for children. Little elevation gains, plenty of shade, and much to explore makes it great for kids!
