Mission Peak via Bay Area Ridge Trail
Overview
This is a difficult one way trail to Mission Peak in Sunol Regional Wilderness.
The trail is exposed the entire way and can get extremely hot in summer. Take sun protection and plenty of water, especially on hot days.
Getting Started
There are two main trailheads for this hike. The first and most popular being at the end of Stanford Ave, the other at Ohlone College. The Stanford lot fills up very quickly and has strict open and close times, while Ohlone College has a much larger parking structure and more flexible time frame. Parking fees are required. Parking at Ohlone College will add an extra mile or so to you hike in each direction.
Taking Children
This is a very challenging, but relatively short hike. People do take children, but it is not recommended for most, especially on hot days, as there is no shelter from the sun and heat.
