Parking can be in the smallish lot near #68 Lawrence St or park in the spacious lots off Chestnut St near the Pepperell Springs area.
A pretty hike passing the remains of two old mills.
Usually, the stream over Gulf Brook in Day Woods is not passable to access the E, then S trail to Lawrence St.
