Peloponnisos Hike(edit)

The Zigovisti–Elati section straddles the Western Menalon massif. This section is marked with . Leave Zigovisti behind passing by the old church of Agios Ioannis and the Pera Vrisi fountain where the trailhead wends through a beautiful ravine to the country church of Agios Georgios and the adjacent spring. The route continues through a crooked dirt road until Asoves, from where an artificially reinforced footpath wends to the Bourniades Spring. Follow the track as it goes smoothly uphill to Bilali Pass, an important node of old paths that connected Radou and Stemnitsa. From Bilali Pass slowly descend to Koskitsa plateau and its big trough, and ascend again slowly to the saddle between Pliovouni and Fragovouni (short cut leading to the peak of Pliovouni 1643m, the highest peak of this route). Then follow a steep path that loses 150 meters altitude and enters the immense Vlachika Plateau and walk round to its south end. From here an alternation of small roads and paths will lead you to Paleochori fountain. Pass the Zoodochos Pigi chapel and follow the path to the mountain settlement of Elati.
