Overview

This is a moderate loop trail to Cole's Corner in Appalachian National Scenic Trail.

This trail goes by Buttermilk Falls, Billings Falls, and Stair Falls.

This trail is treacherous in the winter, and should only be attempted by those with winter ice climbing experience and the proper equipment. In the summer months, you'll see endless waterfalls in the grand canyon of the east!

Getting Started

Parking is available on Upper Valley Road near the kiosk. You'll travel on the lodge to lodge trail, then east side road, then make the turn on the trail into the Gulf.

Taking Children

This would be a great hike for children in the summer, as there's lots of cool waterfalls to see!
