Columbus Mountain via Appalachian Trail(edit)

Overview

This is a moderate one way route on the Appalachian National Scenic Trail.

This trail goes by Columbus Mountain, Chairback Mountain, and Pugwash Pond.

This arbitrary route goes from West Chairback Pond to the Carl Newhall lean-to.

Getting Started

With a vehicle, this route makes no sense, as it starts and ends miles from a road. If you are hiking the the AT, this would be a great day with an option to explore Gulf Hagas in the afternoon.

Taking Children

This would be a difficult hike for children, having to navigate the Chairbacks and partial climb up Gulf Hagas Mountain.
