This is a difficult one way trail to Marion Lake in Grand Teton National Park.

This trail goes by rendevous mtn trail and Middle fork cut off.

Getting Started

Unfortunately, the Tram at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort is closed this summer (2020). The only other way to access this hike is to start from the top of the Bridger Gondola at the resort (which will add about 3.5 miles of uphill hiking) or hike all the way up Granite Canyon--which will make a very long day hike--better suited to an overnight.

Marion lake Trip day 1
We took the Tram from Teton Village to the top of the Ridge to start our hike. The hike began down the ridge line and then down the North side of the ridge. We had to cross several snow banks on the descent. One of our party wrenched a knee about a mile and a quarter into the hike and 2 of us hiked back to the tram with him while the rest of the group continued to our Campsite. The hike after the first descent climbed over the next ridgeline then meandered through forest and meadows until we came to the group campsite about 5 miles from the starting point of our hike. The camp site had a great view looking back towards the ridgeline we had crossed. We got to watch the "supermoon" rise over the ridge. It was a beautiful and memorable sight. In the morning there was a Moose and calf grazing across the valley from our campsite.
