East Peak of Mount Burns
Great day with Mike and Diana. Long scree ridge, then skirted false summit on the east face. The next ridge was annoyingly slow with lots of route options. The final summit push has several rock bands, which was great scrambling.
Return - hit the scree trail from summit and missed all the scrambly down climbing.
Storm blew in, and we were racing against some loud thunder and lighttening. Dicked around on the false summit return, but evenutally found a better path back down.
The long descent down the scree ridge went fairly quickly.
Did the 'short cut' at valley bottom, and got chewed by mosquitoes as it's a bit swampy. Would probably just take the trail for all it saved us.
