First 2 miles are easy and graduate to moderate and then hard. Turned around at the junction with Hunter trail. Cables up to the junction are difficult, but there are toe holds. Bring gloves.

Picacho Peak Via Sunset Vista Trail

This is a moderate hike that becomes difficult about the last 1/2 mile. Cables are present for all the steep parts. If you’re afraid of heights then this may not be the trail for you. Bring gloves and at least 4 quarts of water per person even in cooler weather. The top will not disappoint. Allow 4-5 hours and remember, you have to have enough energy to get back.
