Green River Cove / Pulliam Creek / Bishop Branch Loop from Green River Cove Trailhead
Overview
This is a moderate loop trail in Green River Gameland. It can be done in the opposite direction, which puts most of the climbing in the first couple miles, making it slightly more difficult.
The trail begins at the Green River Cove Trailhead. The Green River Cove Trail travels alongside the river, heading gradually uphill. You will find places to access the river to swim or watch kayakers that are frequently present.
At around 3 miles in you will pass the user trail down to the Narrows. Note that this is an extremely steep, eroded scramble with over 300 ft of elevation gain/loss in a short distance. If you decide to go down, make sure you are prepared for the climb back up. Also note that care is required to avoid accidents around the Class V rapids in the area.
After the Narrows side trail, the hike will ascend a bit more steeply for the next couple of miles. The hikes finishes with a relatively steep descent for the last couple miles.
Note there are a number of trail/road intersections, so care is needed to follow the route.
Getting Started
The hike begins at Green River Cove Trailhead, where there is a small gravel parking lot just North of the bridge over the Green River.
