Bird Creek Meadows Loop
Overview
This is a moderate loop trail to Bird Creek Meadows in Mount Adams Recreation Area. This trail goes by Bluff Lake, Bird Lake, and Bird Lake Campground.
The Bird Lake Trail winds through a forest of snags that burned in a 2015 wildfire. Wildflowers are abundant in the summer. There are several creek crossings. After 1.3 miles reach a junction with the Round The Mountain Trail and turn right. After 0.7 miles turn left onto the Trail of Flowers. This trail heads north, then east, then back south to loop and connect back up with the Round The Mountain Trail. Turn right and after a tenth of a mile turn left onto the Bluff Lake Trail. Follow this trail for 1.2 miles to the road, then turn left to get back to your car at Bird Lake.
NOTE: This trail is on the Yakama Indian Reservation in an area known as Tract D. It is only open to the public for a limited window each summer. Check online for opening dates. Visitors must pay a $20 day use fee upon arriving (cash only).
