This is one of the most scenic pathways in the in Chittenden County. Year round, this is an accessible, well cared for and beautiful area. The entire path or sections of the path are accessible to people of all skill levels and ages.

This trail goes by North Beach, Leddy Beach Park, and Lake Champlain.

Getting Started

You can consider taking the entire path as through experience or tackling just a section.

At the ECHO Museum (Children Museum) there is ample parking in the area to start. You can head up the path from the ECHO to as far as you wish to go and then turn around on the same path.

At the Burlington Ice Skating Rink, there is ample parking there and you are close to in the middle. Going towards Colchester will bring you up to the Island Rail Trail or going towards Burlington will bring you to the ECHO.

At the Island Rail Trail you can park near the entrance and continue through to the end of the trail meeting up to the ferry. Or you could go towards Burlington past Airport Park and continue to the ECHO.

Taking Children

The bike bath is accessible to children with no major hills or challenges. The entire bike path is very accessible to towing children on a bike in a trailer setup.

This is one of the best and most scenic outdoor experiences following Lake Champlain. I would highly recommend it year round.
