Head of the Gulf Trail(edit)

Overview

This is a moderate loop trail in Maine. It traverses about half of Gulf Hagas, as far as Buttermilk Falls.

Getting Started

Parking is available at the lot on Upper Valley Road, near the welcome kiosk. At the kiosk, follow the lodge to lodge trail, following signs for "Gulf Hagas" or "Lyford". At east side road, turn right/east and follow signs for the Rim Trail of Gulf Hagas.

Taking Children

This would be a great abridged way to see Gulf Hagas with children. You won't miss the waterfalls but also don't have to hike all of the Gulf.
