Overview

This is a difficult loop trail in Kinglake National Park.

It is a mix of fire track and walking track, with some beautiful gullies (but watch for leeches).

Look out for Black (Swamp) Wallabies.

The 4 tracks from Silver Creek car park are almost the only public access to this block, which is almost all prohibited to public access as it forms part of Melbourne's water catchment.

Watch out for snakes in warm weather.

Getting Started

Start from the car part at the end of Silver Creek Road.

All four walking tracks from here are well signed with plenty of information.

Taking Children

This is a long hike, but shorter versions (Silver Creek Red Track - 4.8 km, and Silver Creek Yellow Track - 8.9 km) are available. There is a very significant steep uphill section at the start of the walk.
