This was my very first hiking experience and it was great! We started around 10:30am and ended around 2pm. We took a lot of breaks since I have a history of achilles tendinitis + capital B beginner. There were slow, gradual inclines and sharper inclines, but it was manageable! The trail wasn't difficult to navigate and the canopy provided lots of shaded areas. Due to the mild weather, yellow jackets were present in areas of the park. We didn't really encounter any on the trail, but yellow jackets were flying around the Zwierlein picnic area. We saw black-tailed does (watch out for their feces on the trail!), heard a few woodpeckers, and the chirping of other birds.
