Overview
Black Locust Trail loop has become my go to play-hike to get a bit of exercise for me and the pup. Even with the pups predilection to stop and smell the roses, we can knock it out in under two hours. There's just enough distance and elevation to make it a fun little workout. I like hitting it counter-clockwise, this way the majority of the uphill is in the middle. Then you can cruise past the overlooks on the way back to the parking lot. There is a fresh spring along the way where the pup can get a drink, and there's an intersection near the end where you can add another mile by taking the Red Rock Run if you want.

Gambrill Black Trail Loop
Walked with friends around the Black Trail Loop. I suggest the opposite direction if you want to be rewarded with a nice view towards the end of the hike.
