Did this hike on a very foggy, overcast Friday. Wasn't prepared for the usual soaking of my pants by the saturated salal. However, I found it a very satisfying hike that didn't take too long and presented an interesting diversity of vistas, except for the summit, due to the fog. The initial trail head I took was the HP Connector trail off of the Harrison trail. I'd have to say that I would recommend a GPS to do this hike as the trail is almost non-existent although well marked with flashing tape hanging from tree boughs. The return leg towards Grass Lake trail was beautiful but steep. Only a couple of times did I need to resort to four limbs to complete the climb, most of the time I stayed on my feet without needing to use my hands. Route took me 2 and half hours. Part of my Sooke Hills Peak challenge effort.
