Waterrock Knob to Soco Gap 4.72 Official
This is the last section of the Mountains to the Sea trail that the Carolina Mountain Club (who maintains the trail from the Great Smokies to Mt Mitchell) was responsible for. It was difficult for many reasons. Boulders, water, erosion, years of treefall and basically no trail there ever. A monumental job that took 10 years with all volunteer help from the CMC. It was beautifully crafted and made an enjoyable downhill hike to Soco Gap right above Maggie Valley.
