This is a easy out and back trail to Mount Cardigan in Cardigan Mountain State Park.
This is an alternate route for Cardigan South Peak Loop via West Ridge Trail and South Ridge Trail.

Arrived to do a sunrise hike. Trail starts with an immediate incline but gets flatter towards the middle. Once you hit the stones, you are close to the summit. We did it in 50 minutes (at a very slow pace). The view is amazing! At summit there is a tower that serves as shelter or observation. It gets veeeeeery windy and chilly (this is early September) so make sure to pack a light coat, hat and gloves.
