Overview

An easy, mostly paved trail through [Champoeg State Heritage Area](https://oregonstateparks.org/index.cfm?do=parkPage.dsp_parkPage&parkId=The lollipop loop route includes a loop around the Champoeg Visitors Center and several historical sites. Continuing east the path parallels the river offering many views and ends in Butteville, location of the oldest operating store in Oregon and site of Butteville Landing, used by steamships in the 1800s.

Getting Started

Parking is available at the Campoeg State Heritage Visitors Center upon entering the park, the Riverside Day Use Area or Oak Grove Day Use Area. All are along the main loop. Roadside parking also available at the Butteville General Store.

Taking Children

Good hike for children, although long if going all the way to Butteville and includes a short roadside walk. Lots of options for shorter walks.
