Overview

This is a great combination of trails in Paris Mountain. The elevation gain is spread over two sections and is good training for hikes like Rainbow Falls in Jones Gap State Park.

Beginning at the lower portion of Sulpher Sorings trail at parking area 5 you go through a warm up to Mountain Lake, then taking your first strenuous climb to the top mainly along a nice creek with plenty of small falls.

Once you pass the spur to the Fire Tower head East (right) on Kanuga trail. It has great views to the north when the leaves are down. This trail connects with Brissy Ridge which also has great views to the East. You want to go left which takes you down the hill, across a paved road and then to another strenuous hike back to the top parking area. From there get back on Sulpher Springs for another 30 or so minutes back to where you began. There is a picnic area halfway down this trail.

The stats on my app showed an 898 elevation gain over 5.42 miles with only one minute stop time and a 2.1 mph moving spreed.

Getting Started

Park in the area five lot. There are picnic tables and warm restrooms.

Mountain bikers are prohibited on Saturdays.

Taking Children

I think kids need to be at least 8-10 years old but you will know if your kids can handle the hike based on the stats.

This is an alternate route for North Lake Loop.
