2nd time hiking, saw 4 hikers and 3 mountain bikers the entire time. Prefer taking the Eastern side (left) up the mountain over the Western side. East has more views of the Big Tujunga Canyon mountains, west has views of Verdugo mts and lower cities.

Mount Lukens from Haines Canyon. Great bike, no shade. Avoid the Sister Elyse trail that veers to the left of Haines creek. It does not exist anymore! There's 20 minutes of bush walking and picking off ticks I'll never get back.
