Hollywood Reservoir Loop via Montlake Drive and Lake Hollywood Drive(edit)

Overview

This is an easy loop trail to signal Hollywood in Lake Hollywood Open Space.

This trail goes by Upper Hollywood 6-029 Dam, Mulholland Dam, Hollywood Reservoir, and Upper Lake Hollywood.

This is less a trail than a paved service road that circles the entire Hollywood Reservoir. Still, it is a wonderful walk that is completely flat, and goes in and out of sun and shade as it hugs the contour of the two reservoirs. You can often see deer and other wildlife, especially in the mornings.

The dam itself is quite impressive. Be sure to peer over the outside wall to spot old animal carvings on the facade.

A terrific hike for kids, older people, strollers, and wheelchairs. And since it's fenced on one side, and walled in by the hills on the other, it's a safe place for kids to run free.
