Missed the big arrow on my way in, so I did the hike counter-clockwise. I also got to the top of the 20’ rope and chickened out, then made my way out via the Ladders route.
The main canyon route is loose sand and fine gravel. The ridge line and slot canyons are stone or much harder packed dirt. The climb down the middle ladder is a bit sketch - find the arrow and do the hike clockwise.

Painted Canyon Counter-Clockwise
I completely missed the huge arrow pointing up into the slot canyon, so did the hike counter-clockwise. When I got to the top of the 20' Rope, I chickened out and climbed back up to the top of the slot canyon, descended back to the main canyon, and out.
Gorgeous wildflowers!
