Overview

This is a moderate loop trail in Steavensons Falls Natural Features and Scenic Reserve.

This trail goes by Upper Lookout, Steavenson Falls, and Lower Lookout.

The climb up from the car park on Falls Road is steep and makes for hard work for the first hour, but then it’s flat or gently downhill the rest of the way around, except the steps down from Steavensons Falls upper lookout.

The views of Marysville and across to the Cathedral Range from Keppel Lookout and a point on the track between Oxley Lookout and De La Rue Lookout are magnificent.

The track can get busy when you get close to Steavensons Falls.

Wildlife
Watch out for Gang-gang Cockatoos and Flame Robins.

Getting Started

This hike is best attempted anti-clockwise.

Parking
Park at the car park on Falls Road just before the junction with Yellow Dog Road - there is a charge if you park at Steavensons Falls.

Facilities
- Picnic table at Keppel Lookout
- Toilets at Steavensons Falls car park.

Taking Children

This walk is rated the most challenging in Marysville due to the long steep climb (over 400 m). Only attempt if you are reasonably fit.

Beautiful hiking through re-growth forest slowly recovering from the 2009 fires. The climb up from the Keppel Lookout car park is a hard slog, but after that it’s down hill all the way, mostly fairly gentle except the steps down from Stevenson’s Falls. The views from Keppel lookout and a point on the path between Oxley lookout De La Rue lookout are amazing. Stevenson’s Falls are spectacular but can get busy. Spotted a few Gang-Gang cockatoos.

Keppel Lookout Trail
Nice loop, we did not push the pace as it was more about taking in the views and nature so it can be done in 3 or so hours if a good pace is kept. GREAT VIEWS
