Bridal Veil Falls via Coppermine Trail
Overview
This is an easy out and back trail to Bridal Veil Falls in White Mountain National Forest.
There are two water crossings, one of which is bridged. Bridal Veil Falls can be viewed by crossing the stream just above the shelter, then continuing up over some ledges (may be slippery if wet) to the base of the falls. It is particularly spectacular to visit in the winter, when the falls freeze solid and create walls of blue ice cascading over the upper ledges.
Getting Started
Limited parking is available on Coppermine Road, which leaves on the east side of Rte 116. This is a private road so no roadside parking is allowed. Follow the signs up the road to the actual beginning of the Coppermine Trail.
Taking Children
This would be a very nice hike for children as the grade is easy to moderate. Care must be taken at the shelter and above the shelter as the water moves swiftly over the ledges. There are places to access the water that are smooth flat ledges not far from the trailhead that make a nice stopping point for lunch or a snack.
