The Nature Conservancy (Higby Mountain) (Easement) Hike(edit)

Overview

This section of the Mattabessett Trail is a popular, easy-to-moderate section offering many great viewpoints along the ridge. In The Nature Conservancy area encompassing Higby Mountain, this section is part of the New England Trail. It may be completed as an out-and-back or a ~6 mi one-way hike via a car spot.

Getting Started

There is parking available in a gravel lot off Country Club Rd, Middletown, CT (41.56615, -72.72076). There is also parking on Meriden Rd., Route 66, in Middlefield, CT.
