Overview

This is an easy, 2 mile, moderately trafficked trail open to walkers, joggers, and bicycles. Conceptualized in 1990, this trail is a section of a proposed trail that may eventually complete a trail between the Southern Idaho Border, down to Juab County in Utah. This particular section is a trail connecting the entrances of Green and Logan Canyons. The trail is open to hiking, biking, and walking. This trail is wide enough to accommodate walking side by side, and allowing ample room for strollers. The trail itself is a gravel trail, around four to five feet wide.

Getting Started

It is an easily accessible trail, located in with parking on any of the three official trailheads. These can be found at the mouth of Green Canyon, Logan Canyon, or about the halfway point of the trail on Aspen Drive, which provides access up to the Bonneville Shoreline Trail, or down to Lundstrom Park, a public park with picnic tables and a children’s playground.

The trailhead at Green Canyon is across the road from parking. This is the least steep route to start out, but still includes a few feet of mildly steep trail. The trailheads on either Aspen Drive, or Logan Canyon, will require you to walk about .25 mile to get to the trail. Logan Canyon has parking at First Dam on the other side of US 89 Highway. Use the underpass to reach the trail, then another .25 mile of steep trail will lead you to the main trail.

Taking Children

This is an excellent trail to bring children on. The trail is wide enough for families and strollers, and is level enough for a casual walk. There is no shortage of sagebrush and trees along the route, and definitely opportunities to see birds, insects, and wildflowers.
