Mt Tabor circuit
Urban forest park easily accessed by transit. Numerous trails cover this volcanic plug. Not as well signed as Forest and Washington parks but no risk of getting lost as this is a compact hilltop forested park. Picnics, walking, wheels, dogs, playground and amphitheater in a bowl with a black basalt wall on one side. The park encloses four water storage reservoirs of the Portland Water Department. On clear days Mt Hood and St Helens can be seen from the summit. Views west and to downtown as well. Heavily used in a dense residential area.
