Mailbox peak # 2 (weighted)
March 31st- Pack weight 25 pounds in water. Weight dumped at summit. left trailhead around 6am, headlamp off ~6:45am, forest change to moss floor at 1790ft 1:05hrs 1.4mi, tree line at 2:03hrs, 8 am, summit at 8:32 am 2:35hrs. Car at 10:20am. Felt good, weight was difficult at the beginning, but got easier with time. Boot pack path to summit. Not too cold on the trail, but windy above tree line. Spikes needed about halfway up. Trekking poles would have been handy above tree line, but managed fine without.

Walked with 24 lbs. uphill was no problem. Downhill was pretty difficult because my knee started to hurt a lot and. Had to slow.that made everyone in the team

Did this one alone. Did not stop on way to top. Left around 10:15 and arrived at around 11:45. Took the downhill faster than previously.
Mailbox, peak, round-trip, up old trail down new trail
May 3, 2026: trail was clear and solid, no snow, no bugs. Beautiful views Small streams still running across the new trail route.
Mailbox Peak Old Up New Down Solo
Solo good fast as I could and really darn good and no cramping and no real pains. I think 1:58 to top. Lots of people.

Mailbox - clear day. Some snow. Slipped & fell when we took the microspikes off too early.
