Overview

This is a difficult loop trail to Mount Sizer in Henry W. Coe State Park.

This trail goes by Headquarters Campground, Frog Lake, Frog Lake Camp, Pajahuello Spring, Middle Ridge, Upper Camp, Sada's Spring Camp, Blue Ridge, Poverty Flat Camp 4, Poverty Flat Camp 3, Poverty Flat Camp 2, Poverty Flat Camp 1, Old Corral Camp, Visitor Center, and Yerba Buena Camp.

Getting Started

The trail begins near the visitors center at the end of East Dunne Ave in Morgan Hill. There are several small day use lots and you will need to pay to enter. As of December 2022, entrance is $8 per vehicle for the day. There is water available, as well as restrooms, near the visitor center. Lots will fill up quickly during peak seasons, especially on weekends or holidays, so try arriving early if you visit during those times.
From the parking lot, follow the road back past the entrance and head towards the right. Signs will guide you to the various trail. Trails are will marked, with distances, throughout the park.

Taking Children

This is a very difficult hike, with very steep inclines, as well as a couple of creek crossings. While the areas around the park entrance and some of the trails might be great for children, the entire loop would be too difficult for most young children.
