Indian Head Loop
Overview
This is a moderate loop trail to Indian Head in Franconia Notch State Park.
This trail goes by Mount Pemigewasset.
There are good viewpoints to the south and east on the summit.
Getting Started
On this hike you have the option of two parking lots. The southern one, clearly marked is on the west side of US 3 and has room for approximately 15 cars, its not well plowed in the winter time. There are no services at this trailhead (toilet or trash). The second parking area is in one of the parking lots at the Flume Visitor Center for Franconia Notch SP. Park in the most northerly parking lot to be closer to the TH. Room for lots of cars in these lots. Services available at the Franconia SP though I believe you have to pay park admission to access them.
Taking Children
Suitable for children though there is a cliff at the top which would require some care and attention. I would rate this a 5 as there isn't much along the trail itself.
