Marion Lake and Falls hike
Took a Father’s Day hike to Marion Lake and Marion Falls with Mom and Heather. We met Heather at Mehama where she parked the car and rode with us to the trailhead. Temperature was quite warm in the mid upper 70s with lots of sun and blue skies. The mosquitoes were out in force once we got up to the lake And I was getting swarmed pretty badly but luckily I had some decades old REI bug dope that we put on and it actually seemed to work pretty well. We took the trail along the north side of the lake for a bit and then sat by the lake and ate lunch. We then came back around to the west side of the lake and went to the outlet where all the fish were jumping to catch all the new bugs that had just hatched. We then made our way down Marion Creek and turned off to see Marion Falls. It was really roaring like the last time we were there in 2021. We helped some students from Osu find their way to the falls. All in all a very good day.
