White Ranch OS is a great close-in park for Denver Metro, and the Rawhide Trail benefits from being hiker-only. We led a CMC snowshoe there yesterday and had the 5-mile loop trail all to ourselves. The place is dazzling in winter, with big vistas to downtown Denver and North Table Mountain. The middle of the loop, where one normally would not venture off-trail, has many slopes and hills to practice more extreme terrain.
