Overview

This is a moderate to difficult loop trail within Hawk Mountain Sanctuary in Pennsylvania. There is a trail fee to enter unless you are a member. It follows the Skyline Trail (blue), Golden Eagle Trail (yellow), River of Rocks Trail (red), and Lookout Trail (orange). This loop system offers spectacular views from many rock outcroppings throughout the trail. It does require scrambling in certain sections. It also offers chance to view wildlife, particularly raptors.

This trail goes by Post #4, Post #5, Post #3, East Rocks, Post #1, North Lookout, Kettle View, The Slide, Sunset Overlook, Bald Lookout, Appalachian Overlook, South Lookout, and Hawk Mountain Sanctuary Visitor Center.

    Beautiful, rugged hike with some spectacular views. In the fall, you can see hawks and eagles as the migrate along the ridges.
