Overview

A beautiful loop though some of the finest wet eucalypt forest in the world.

Enjoy walking between magnificent mountain ash trees, magnificent soft and rough fern trees, ancient mytle beech and beautiful sassafras. This trail includes lush temperate rainforest at the northern end and mountain ash forest for most of the rest.

You can’t miss the mountain ash trees - the world’s tallest flowering plants - but also look out for Dawsonia superba - the world’s tallest moss.

Information boards are available at Wirrawilla to help identify the different plants.

Getting Started

Start either at Wirrawilla car park on Quarry Road, off Sylvia Creek Road, at the northern end of the loop, or at the southern end of the loop at Monda Road car park.

Toilets and picnic tables are available at Wirrawilla.

Taking Children

Well formed track but steep in places. Fine for older children who can handle the distance.
