We did this hike 10-2-18 on a cloudy day and no recent rain so a dry trail. The trail is mostly soil covered by needles and leaves so easy to hike. The fall colors were starting to turn and some Salomon were spawning in the Salmon river. The trail was clear of logs and there was evidence on the Hunchback trail going south to Devils peak of extensive trail maintenance with fresh cuts visible on at least 30-40 trees over 2 feet in diameter. Thanks to those who do this hard work.

Very nice hike. The Salmon River Trail is pretty easy lots of camping opportunities if you backpack. Great views from the top.
