Bláhnúkur Loop(edit)

Overview

This is a easy and very scenic loop trail in Friðland að Fjallabaki. The trail climbs up to Bláhnjúkur where the views stretch in all directions. Then the trail descends north and heads west to a trail junction where you'll turn right and descend to a crossing of Brennisteinsöldukvísl. There is no bridge and you will have to either wade or rock hop. At the next junction turn right, then follow the trail all the way back to Landmannalaugar

This trail goes by Bláhnúkur, Blahnukur, and Landmannalaugar.

Getting Started

The trail starts at Landmannalaugar just past the Mountain Mall.

Taking Children

This is a difficult hike for young children but is fine for older children who are used to hikes with elevation gain.
