Mahaulepu Heritage Trail(edit)

Overview

Easy out and back with pretty coastal views. We stated at Shipwreck Beach and headed east towards Makauwahi Cave. The trail is quite braided as you leave Shipwreck Beach - but all paths seem to converge again so follow the route that appeals to you the most. You cross several pretty viewpoints, walk along the Poipu Bay Golf course and cross one small pocket beach. We turned around before making it to Makawahi Cave and the beautiful looking Gillians Beach.

Getting Started

We parked along the road leading to Shipwreck Beach. There is a small parking lot at the beach but it was full. There is road access and another parking lot closer to Makauwahi Cave if that or Gilians Beach is you goal. The cars we saw in that lot were "sporty" i.e. SUVs or jeeps. Not sure if that is required.
