Begin by retracing steps to the Forcella Lagazuoi, and then on path 402-1, traverse the mountain across the great valley of Travenazes, past the Forcella dei Bos. Just past this we will turn on path 404. There are some short exposed sections. All around us are some of the most remarkable Dolomite peaks, the Tofane , the Rozes, the Cinque Torri. Descending from the climbing faces, we reach the Rifugio Dibona for a rest; on path 442, we then go down to cross a major road at Cianzope at the bottom of the Cortina Valley and then on path 439, start up steeply twd the Cinque Torri group. Just in the shadow of the Torri we will arrive at our destination for the day: the traditional family-run Cinque Torri refuge. Extra destinations this day could be to walk around the Cinque Torri towers, explore the outdoor WWII history museum, or to walk up to the incredible Rifugio Nuvolau.
