Mannlichen - Kleine Scheidegg(edit)

Enjoy this 4.7-km point-to-point trail near Wengen, Bern. Generally considered an easy route, it takes an average of 1 h 19 min to complete. This is a very popular area for birding, hiking, and running, so you'll likely encounter other people while exploring. The best times to visit this trail are June through September. Dogs are welcome and may be off-leash in some areas. This popular starting point can be reached from Wengen with the Wengen – Mannlichen cable car or from Grindelwald with the Grindelwald – Mannlichen (GM) gondola lift. The hike leads over alpine meadows down to the Kleine Scheidegg (2061m), from where hikers can enjoy a beautiful view of the Jungfrau massif. This hike is great for families, but can get crowded.

This is a mostly level walk over a well-maintained trail that hikers of all ages could do. While it is walkable in either direction, I STRONGLY recommend you start your hike off the Mannlichenbahn so that you are facing the Eiger as you walk.
