Overview

This is a less trafficked trail in the Tiger Mountain State Forest, and avoids most of the trail runners! Start from the High Point trailhead, and make sure to leave ALL valuables out of sight in your car. This area is infamous for smash and grabs. The hike to West Tiger 2 ends with a summit and a satellite. It is not the view at the top that is rewarding, but the solitude on the way while remaining close to the city. Note that with solitude comes risk, so make sure to carry your 10 essentials and if hiking at dawn or dusk make lots of noise as various wildlife sightings are common (both bears and cougars).

Getting Started

From Seattle I-90 take exit 20 east. Turn right off the interstate and an immediate left. If the gate is closed choose a place to park off the side of the road paralleling the interstate.

Taking Children

This is not a great hike for children

This is an alternate route for West Tiger #1 Loop via Tiger Mountain Trail.
