This is a great non-technical trail for folks looking to summit a mountain. It is definitely a long hike, make sure to give yourself plenty of time. ★ ★ ★ ★ ★

Very strenuous hike, but very rewarding once you reach the summit (which was covered in clouds). Very cold for a mid September hike with summit temperatures as low as 6 degrees with 30-40mph gusts. Always expect the worse on high elevation hikes like this and don't forget your trekking poles!!! ★ ★ ★ ★ ★

South Sister Summit

We hike quite a lot - but this trail is a whole other animal. Though it's not a technical climb, you're gaining 4,900 feet in about 6 miles if you hike all the way to the top. We invited ourselves along with some friends who were going on what turned out to be the perfect day weather wise. Making it to the top wasn't meant to be this trip; next time!
