Overview

This is a moderate loop trail to Monument Knob in South Mountain State Park. This trail goes by Greenbrier Lake. . You can easily skip the Greenbrier Lake segment and make this a 6.2 mile round trip. The terrain is Rocky, but the topography is fairly easy. There are a couple of climbs but they are aided by steps created by the local AT trail club.

This is a fairly well traveled section of the AT,

Getting Started

There is a short trail leading to the AT where you can go North or South. The Southern route takes you over Route 70 to Monument Knob.

Average hike. Rocky, but not difficult. Other then the view from Monument Knob, there are no other specific points of interest. I would rate this as Easy to Moderate.
