Cottonwood Valley Loop via Late Night Loop and Mustang
Overview
This is a moderate loop trail in Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area.
This trail goes by Cottonwood Valley and Rubber Duck Tree.
Getting Started
This tail head has bathrooms. And easy paved parking. It even has a turn around loop, which medium to big RVs can fit. There are trail markers on the trail. But I struggled finding a paper map of them. So I tracked our route on my phone. There is a graded dirt road which leads to the Epinephrine Trail, which is for mountain climbers who repel. I considered, in the future, to drive to that trail head, but then hike more deep, on a future trip. I dont repel. This area is part of the Red Rock Canyon National Conservancy Area, but this trail head is free. And you get to see a nice portion of the landscape of Red Rock. This area is higher in elevation from Las Vegas, so there is more foliage here and on this trail. Which is really nice. This trail is popular for bicycles, so be aware and respectful. Since it is not in the pay area of the park, I could not find much info on this trail on the parks main site of https://www.redrockcanyonlv.org/. But I did here https://www.yelp.com/biz/late-night-trailhead-blue-diamond.
Taking Children
Kids are welcome, there are no high inclines or scrambling here. I also saw people on horses. And we brought our dog.
