Lake Maggiore Loop via Center Loop(edit)

Overview

This is a moderate loop trail in Boyd Hill Nature Preserve.

This trail goes by Wax Myrtle Pond and Lake Maggiore.

Trails: There are many trails and loops that can be taken. To the left, the upland trail, is fantastic to catch unique reptiles. Straight, the main trail, has good mix of ecosystems, from lakes to forests including its resident gators.

Getting Started

Parking: There is ample parking for you and your friends. The entrance to the parking lot is hidden so drive slow as to not miss it. There is a 3 dollar fee (as of July 2019) to enter.

Trailhead: Enter the visitor center and pay at the counter, go past the garden, to the left the birds of pay enclosure, straight is the main trial.

Taking Children

The trail is kid-friendly, yet caution should be exercised as there are gators in the lake.
