Yankee Boy Basin - © Trails Offroad
Yankee Boy Basin is an out-and-back trail starting near the end of Camp Blue Bird. Yankee Boy Basin, with its bumpy and moderate obstacles, is a different driving experience than Camp Bird. The trail is narrow and steep but not shelf-like to the degree of many other nearby roads. It is suitable for newer drivers with high-clearance 4WD vehicles with low-range gearing.
Most of the trail is above the timberline and subject to severe weather at any time. Be prepared for rain, snow, and lightning. Do not attempt the upper portions during icy weather.
The trail is seasonal and typically is passable from July through the middle of fall, depending on the weather.
