Hiked it counter clockwise with scout troop (Philmont prep hike). Spent the night at the Calf Road intersection. Great view of the valley in the upper campsite there. Day 2 we climbed Blood Mtn and overnighted at Bird Gap. Lots of elevation change on this trail. Trail was in great shape.
