The hike is mostly in the sun but there are plenty of places to stop and get food and refreshments if you’re going for more of a walk than a hike. Playgrounds with bathrooms are available if you’re going with kids. Also, most of the way is paved and a steady incline which you’ll appreciate on the way back. It’s a great hike to get the kids off their screens and breathe fresh air.

The final mile to the ferry terminal after checking in at the campsite. Had to take a break at the first park I came to because I was desperate to take off my shoes and sit in the shade for a while - my campsite didn’t have any.
